How to Create a Geofilter Guide:
  1. Navigate to
  2. Choose your creative. You can either upload custom creative or design a filter based on Snapchat presets.
  3. Let’s start with uploading custom creative… 

    1. Click on “Upload” in the top left. When your files appear, select a file that is: 1080x1920 px or 1080x2340 px, below 300KB,  and a .png file with a transparent background.
    2. For example, here is one that our creative team designed for an event back in September...

II. But if you don’t have a graphic design team…

a.You can choose from a variety of presets off to the left-hand side

b. You’ll notice that there are different types of presets above the filters (New Year, Holidays, etc.)

c. Scroll to the left to reveal the “Business” preset…

d. Select the preset that you want for your promotion or event:

e. Click on the text within the filter to update to whatever is relevant to your business...

f. You can preview what your filter will look like but pressing “Preview” in the bottom right:

If you like it, click submit.

4.You will be able to choose the dates and time period your filter will appear for:
Click “Next.” You will be sent to a map view.

5. Enter the address of where you want your geofilter to appear in the top left. You’ll notice on the top right, your cost is automatically calculated by figuring the duration and square footage that it is turned on for. The white dots around your geo targeted space can be manipulated, shrinking or expanding the area your geofilter will appear. Once you are happy, hit, “Checkout.”  

6. Your final order summary appears on the last page titled “Checkout.” If you are happy with everything you see, hit “Submit.” Don’t forget to name your geofilter in the top left corner! Then, your geofilter is ready to roll and promote your next sales event!
